Nothing is more annoying than seeing huge issues being dismissed because of the divisions between political parties. America is faced with real challenges right now: health care, financial security, education, and the list goes on.
Hollywood is getting involved by joining up with the “Divided We Fail” campaign led by the AARP. The Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and the Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF) have partnered with the movement for a three-year collaboration to forge the way to finding real bipartesan solutions to America’s biggest challenges.
“The entertainment industry’s leadership felt that we could make a major contribution to Divided We Fail,” said MPTF Foundation Chairman Jeffrey Katzenberg. “Hollywood can call attention to these problems and help galvanize the public into taking action.”
The first step in making this happen is a PSA directed by actor and director Tony Goldwyn — grandson of legendary producer and EIF Founder Samuel Goldwyn. It features Ben Affleck, Garth Brooks, Dakota Fanning, Morgan Freeman, Eva Mendes, Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Piven and Reese Witherspoon.
