On Sunday, November 11th, Ted Danson and Alyssa Milano will be honored at the 2007 Artivist Awards. The Artivist Awards honors artists whose exemplary work in their community stands out as a shining example of one person’s ability to change the world for the better. From the official press release:
“Ted Danson for his work with American Oceans Campaign (AOC) creating awareness for life-threatening eco-hazards to our oceans and through his call for more government action. Alyssa Milano for her extensive work as a relief ambassador with UNICEF and her plight to raise public awareness for neglected tropical diseases faced by over one billion people world-wide. Finally, Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel family for his championship of causes related to environmental stewardship, earth ethics and youth outreach.”
Other celebrity activists that have been honored include Daryl Hannah, Matthew McConaughey, Joaquin Phoenix, Mira Sorvino, and Ed Begley, Jr.
