Jackson Browne, Morgan Freeman,Samuel L. Jackson, George Lopez, Alfre Woodard and Forest Whitaker are among the stars that are hosting Shaking the Blues. This star-studded celebration will showcase outstanding Blues and Blues-inspired artists from the US and Africa. It will feature singers, musicians, comedians and activists who help our society and world “shake the blues.” The show will include riveting tunes, edgy comedy, and remarkable guest stars.
Shaking the Blues will benefit ANSA, Artists for a New South Africa. ANSA is a nonprofit organization working in the US and South Africa to combat HIV/AIDS, assist children orphaned by AIDS, advance human and civil rights, safeguard voting rights, and educate and empower youth.
They are also holding a really cool celebrity charity auction. Some of the items include a meeting with former President Bill Clinton, a visit to the set of Desperate Housewives, and our favorite–a piece of plane from the doomed Oceanic Air Flight 815 from Lost.
